The Pure Sodium Hypochlorite Biocidal Product Group is an European Economic Interest Grouping - EEIG (EWIV) constituted under German Law.

The Members of the Pure Sodium Hypochlorite BPG EWIV are cooperating with the objective of fulfilling the regulatory obligations under the Biocidal Products Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 (BPR) in respect to the approval of biocidal products of type 1-5 containing the Active Substance sodium hypochlorite (CAS No. 7681-52-9).

The Active Substance will be approved under the BPR by a Commission Implementing Regulation, with a date of approval of 1 January 2019, and will be included in the Union list of approved active substances as of this date.

Since an application for authorisation must be submitted by the above mentioned date to the European Chemicals Agency or to a Member State Competent Authority in order to keep the products on the market, we consider it necessary to increase the efficiency of generation of information, to avoid duplication of work and to reduce associated costs as well as to submit a harmonised set of data to the above mentioned authorities.

Therefore, we agree to share human and financial resources in order to comply with the requirements of the BPR for product authorisation.
